2008 FESTIVAL SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN
All Screenings Free to the Public
Since Universal Studios opened its doors in March of 1915 the San Fernando Valley has
been home to the largest concentration of film studios and filmmakers in the world.
2008 will mark the fifth year of the successful and well-received San Fernando Valley International Film Festival, which has garnered
accolades and praise from attendees, the press and industry representatives for the past four years.
Over the past ninety years, thousands of writers, filmmakers, actors and
industry support personnel have begun their careers here in the San Fernando Valley.
Now members of the industry and local communities have established a film and entertainment festival like no other.
The 2008 San Fernando Valley International Film Festival will be held at the Beverly Garland Hotel in
North Hollywood October 18-26, 2008, and offer a tremendous opportunity for
writers and filmmakers to demonstrate their craft to the public and industry decision makers. No other film festival can boast the same proximity to all the major studios and the people who drive the
industry. The festival is one of the only festivals in California to offer free screenings to the public, which facilitates excellent screening attendance.
